Our final meeting of this term was successfully held, welcoming four guests. We are always delighted to
see new faces joining us and learning about our club.
Several members who recently joined the club took on meeting roles for the first time, including Ah-
Counter, 1st Vote Counter, Timer, and Website Reporter. Thanks to the support of many experienced
members, everything proceeded smoothly.

The meeting opened with a fabulous mini-performance by TM Q as the Word of the Day presenter. Our
Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD), TM T, skillfully managed the meeting schedule while highlighting the
strengths and unique characteristics of each role holder.

The Table Topics session was led by our beloved teacher, TM M. The questions focused on family and
friends. Although it can be challenging to formulate answers in English on the spot, Table Topics
provides excellent training not only in language skills but also in self-expression. Participants showcased
their individuality in various ways, whether through eye contact, expressive facial expressions, effective
pauses, or engaging delivery.

Next came the eagerly anticipated Prepared Speech Session.
The first speaker, TM I, delivered a speech about food, including chocolate, and the joys of human
relationships. Her personality shone brilliantly throughout the presentation. Making full use of gestures,
facial expressions, and vocal variety, she transformed her speech into a truly entertaining performance.
She even introduced original coined words, yet her speech structure ensured that everyone could easily
understand their meaning.
The second speaker, TM T, presented a speech about children& picture books. By projecting images
from actual books, he helped the audience visualize his message while logically explaining what adults
can learn from them as well. It was particularly impressive how he developed a profound message from
the catchy opening phrase, “Peek-a-boo.”

The third speaker, TM O, offered a unique perspective on friendship by evaluating the relationship with a
close friend through the lens of the Avengers. The speech was filled with creativity and originality. The
message about cherishing friendship culminated in a dramatic conclusion delivered alongside Avengers-
themed music, making the audience feel as though they had stepped into a movie scene.
Following the speeches came the Evaluation Session, where evaluators provided feedback on each
presentation. Typically, evaluators identify two strengths and one area for improvement. This process
helps members develop the ability to quickly analyze and assess a speech they have heard only once.
Many evaluations today focused on speech organization and structure. Constructive suggestions were
offered in a positive manner, encouraging speakers and motivating them to continue improving.

As General Evaluator TM U pointed out, today’s meeting was especially welcoming and friendly. TM T’s
introductions of each member’s personality and strengths helped guests gain a deeper understanding of
our club community. TM Q’s entertaining Word of the Day presentation also helped create a relaxed
atmosphere from the very beginning. Together, all participants contributed to the warm and supportive
environment that defines our club.
Toward the end of the meeting, we held the 2025-2026 Term Award Ceremony to recognize outstanding
achievements throughout the year.

– Unbreakable Rising Phoenix Award: TM S
Congratulations to all award winners, and thank you for your remarkable contributions throughout the
term.
Finally, we held the Installation Ceremony for the incoming officers. Toastmasters is a member-driven
organization, and our club is operated by seven officers. During this ceremony, the official transition of
responsibilities took place from the outgoing officers to the incoming team.
For some members, this will be their first time serving as an officer. Fortunately, our club has always
fostered a spirit of mutual support and cooperation. Whenever challenges arise, members are ready to
help one another, and we are truly grateful for this supportive culture.
We are also excited to welcome two new members at our next meeting on July 4th.
Let’s continue to grow, learn, and make our club even more vibrant together in the coming term!

また直近で入会された方々が初めての役割（Ah Counter, 1 st Vote Counter, Timer, Website Reporter）を            
担われておりました。多くのメンバーがサポートしていただいていることもり、滞りなく進められてい
ましたね。
TM QさんによるWord of the Day（本日の例会でこの単語を積極的に使ってみましょう！という単語を
示す役割）にて、ファブラスなショート劇場（のような説明）から幕開けました！Toastmasters of the
Day（TMOD, 例会の司会進行役）には、ベテランメンバーのTM Tさんが的確なタイムマネジメントを
されながら、各役割の方々のStrengthや特徴を表現されていました♪
Table Topics Master（初めての質問に対してその場で答えるセッションがあり、質問側の役割）は我ら
が先生、TM Mさんでした。本日は家族や友人に纏わる質問でしたね。即興で答えを考えながら英語で
表現するのは比較的難しいですが、とてもいい訓練になりますね。英語だけでなく表現力も試されます
。でも、ご自身ではシャイと仰りながらもアイコンタクトを取られながらお話されている方、表情や間
もうまく使いながら表現されている方、皆さんご自身の強みを活かしながら話されていました！
そしておまちかね、Prepared Speech Session（事前準備してスピーチを披露するセッション）です。
１人目はTM Iさん。チョコレートはじめ食に関する感性や愉快な人間関係に関するスピーチでした！本
日も彼女らしさが大炸裂。全身・表情・声色をフル活用してそれはまるでエンターテインメントを見て
いるかのよう。彼女のスピーチでは造語も出てくるのですが、初めて耳にしても誰もが分かるようなス
ピーチ構成になっていました。
２人目はTM Tさん。子供向け絵本に関するスピーチでした！実際の絵本イメージをいくつか投影され、
聞き手にイメージを持たせながら、そこから大人にとってもどういう学びがあるか、論理的に表現され
ていました。最初にPeek-a-boo（いないないばあ）というキャッチーなキーワードから深みのあるスピ
ーチ構成となっていることが印象的でしたね。
３人目はTM Oさん。ご自身の親友との関係性について、有名なAvengersたちの関係性の観点から客観
的にEvaluateするという斬新なアイデアが溢れていましたね！友情を大切にしようというメッセージも
、最後はAvengersの音楽に乗せながらセリフのように表現されており、なんだか映画の中に引き込まれ
たような感覚でした。
Prepared Speech Session後は、Evaluation Session（Prepared Speakerのスピーチを評価するセッショ
ン）。基本的には各スピーチの良いところを２点、改善点を１点挙げていきます。初めて聞いたスピー
チに対し短時間で特徴を捉え、評価するというスキルが磨かれます。本日はスピーチ構成に関する評価
が多かったですね。改善点もただ「こうしたほうが良い」と終わらすのではなく、「こうしたらもっと
素敵になると思う！」という建設的なコメントをいただけるので、次のスピーチに向けてモチベーショ
ンが上がりますね。
General Evaluator（例会全体がどうだったか？を評価する役割）のTM Uさんも仰っていたように、本
日はTMODのTM Tさんが各役割の方々の特徴やキャラクターを説明してくださったおかげで、ゲストの
皆さんにもどういうメンバーの人が所属しているかがよく分かったこと、最初のWord of the DayのTM
Qさんが場を和ませてくださったことをはじめ、いつものようにフレンドリーな例会を全員が作ったこ
とについ褒めたたえてくださいました。

例会の終わりはまず、Award Ceremony term of 2025-2026（今期でそれぞれ活躍された人）でした！
Be World ChampionshipにTM T, Most BreakthroughにTM I, Most admirable DiretorにTM A, Most

Impactful RookieにTM Q, Unbreakable Rising PhoenixにTM Sが選出されました。素晴らしい活躍をあ
りがとうございました！

最後にInstallation Ceremony（来期オフィサーの引継ぎ式）でした！トーストマスターズはメンバーで
運営しており、7名のオフィサーがいます。本日を以って、前期のオフィサーから来期のオフィサーへ
の正式な引継ぎが行われました。来期のオフィサーでは初めて担当する方もいます。困ったときはお互
い助け合い、日頃より相互扶助の精神があるメンバーの方が多いので、とても有難いと感じています。
次回7月4日の例会でも、新たに2名の方が入会されます！来期もみなさんで盛り上げていきましょう！

  6月になり、最初の例会です。天気は晴れで、風が思ったより涼しく気持ちの良い日でし
た。本日のトーストマスターはTM Aです。経験豊富で、進め方に安心感があります。24
名の会員と2名のゲストが参加しました。
プレジデントは、アイスブレークとして小説を紹介しました。「決してデジタル化できな
い本」だそうです。
Sさんが新メンバーとなることが発表され、入会セレモニーが行われました。メンターは
TM Oと発表されました。

Table Topics MasterはTM T。6月1日はYokohama Toastmasters Clubの誕生日だそうです。
テーマは「YTMC」。
Q1：横浜トーストマスターズで、記憶に残る会議は？
A1： プレジデントを引き受けたときや、コンテストに参加し、勝たなければいけないプ
レッシャーを感じたとき。
Q2：YTMCの最初の印象は？
A2： よく組織されていると感じた。歴史とメンバーの努力によるものだと思った。
Q3：YTMCのプレジデントになったら、どうしますか？
A3： YTMCの雰囲気を保ちたい。また、外国人メンバーを増やしたい。
Q4：子供にYTMCをどう説明するか？
A4： 自分の子供がすでにYTMCを理解しているので、参加するように誘いたい。
Q5：YTMCの今季を振り返って評価してください。
A5： 楽しめて、参加しやすく、失敗してもよい雰囲気を保てたと思う。

3rd Speaker TM T
Direct Communication: Its Virtue and Vice
子供の頃に体験した海外生活や、会社でのコミュニケーションなど、自身のコミュニケー
ションスタイルに関するスピーチでした。
4th Speaker TM O
Impromptu Speech
2つの即興スピーチを行うプロジェクトでした。
1つ目は、先輩への弔辞を述べるというお題で、先輩との強烈な思い出について語りまし
た。
2つ目は、災害シェルターで疲れ果てたメンバーに対し、リーダーとして話をするという
お題でした。自身の強烈な失敗談を語ることで、メンバーを勇気づけました。
論評
全体論評はTM Sが担当しました。

ジョークを交えながらも、的確な論評だと感じました。

スピーカーをよく観察した結果による論評だと感じました。
3rd Evaluator TM O
全体的には興味深い話であったが、一つのストーリーに絞って丁寧に説明し、そのときに
どう感じたかを加えることを提案していました。
4th Evaluator TM T
強烈なコメントを述べつつ、最後は本質的な論評を行うところが印象的でした。
TM Sからは全体論評が述べられました。また、各論評者へのフィードバックも行われまし
た。

This was the first meeting of June. The weather was sunny, and the breeze was cooler than
expected, making for a very pleasant day. The Toastmaster of the Day was TM A. With
extensive experience, TM A led the meeting smoothly and confidently. A total of 24
members and 2 guests attended.
As an icebreaker, the President introduced a novel, describing it as “a book that can never
be digitized.”
It was also announced that S had joined the club as a new member, and an induction
ceremony was held. TM O was introduced as S's mentor.
The Word of the Day was “Adaptive.”
Table Topics Session
The Table Topics Master was TM T. We learned that June 1 is the anniversary of Yokohama
Toastmasters Club. The theme of the session was “YTMC.”
Q1: What meeting at Yokohama Toastmasters do you remember most?
A1: The time I accepted the role of President, and when I participated in a contest and felt
the pressure of having to win.
Q2: What was your first impression of YTMC?
A2: I felt that the club was very well organized. I believe this is the result of its long history
and the efforts of its members.
Q3: What would you do if you became President of YTMC?
A3: I would like to preserve the club’s atmosphere and attract more international members.
Q4: How would you explain YTMC to your child?
A4: My child already understands what YTMC is, so I would encourage them to participate.
Q5: How would you evaluate this season of YTMC?
A5: I believe we maintained an enjoyable and welcoming atmosphere where members felt
comfortable participating and making mistakes.
Q6: If you could change the meeting format, what would you do?
A6: I think adding a Joke Session would be a good idea.

The speaker delivered a message that human beings are capable of continuously
examining issues from many different perspectives.
2nd Speaker: TM Q
The Soul of Japan (Revised)
This speech explored Japanese religious beliefs and ways of thinking. The speaker's
message was that Compassion, Courage, and Respect form the soul of Japan.
3rd Speaker: TM T
Direct Communication: Its Virtue and Vice
The speaker shared experiences from living overseas during childhood and communicating
in the workplace, reflecting on his own communication style.
4th Speaker: TM O
Impromptu Speech
This project consisted of delivering two impromptu speeches.
In the first speech, the speaker was asked to deliver a eulogy for a senior colleague and
spoke about a powerful memory of that person.
In the second speech, the speaker was asked to play the role of a leader addressing
exhausted members in a disaster shelter. By sharing a significant personal failure, the
speaker encouraged and inspired the audience.

The evaluation was accurate and insightful, while also incorporating humor.
2nd Evaluator: TM T
The evaluator appeared to have carefully observed the speaker and provided thoughtful
feedback.
3rd Evaluator: TM O
The evaluator commented that the speech was interesting overall, but suggested focusing
on a single story, explaining it thoroughly, and describing the emotions experienced during
that event.
4th Evaluator: TM T
It was impressive how the evaluator made strong comments while ultimately delivering
insightful and substantive feedback.
TM S then delivered the General Evaluation and also provided feedback to each evaluator.
