    Web report
On a beautiful sunny day in May, the 858th regular meeting was held at the Hatoba
Kaikan.
The meeting room on the 4th floor, overlooking the blue sky and Yokohama Port, created
a refreshing atmosphere. With six guests joining us, the meeting began in a warm and
lively mood.
After the President’s opening remarks, the election for next term’s officers was held,
and all recommended candidates were elected.
A new generation of young officers was born, and it looks certain that next year’s
meetings will continue to be enjoyable, energetic, and fulfilling.

“Congratulations, and we look forward to working with you!”
The Word of the Day was “Cherish.”
Today’s Toastmaster was TM F, whose cheerful personality and enjoyable speaking style
immediately brought laughter and warmth to the room.
It was hard to believe this was TM F’s first time serving as TMOD, as the meeting moved
smoothly and energetically from start to finish.
The theme of the meeting was “Mother’s Day,” as tomorrow is Mother’s Day.
TM F shared that although Mother’s Day is not celebrated in their home country, after
coming to Japan she bought a bag as a gift for her mother.
Each role taker also shared their own thoughts and stories related to mothers:
 TM O: “I invite my mother to a hotel breakfast.”
 TM Q: “I visit my mother’s grave with flowers and say, ‘I love you.’”
 TM M: “When I was in high school, my mother told me to use lotion, so I started
using it. Now my students tell me, ‘Teacher, your face is glowing!’”
The Table Topics session was led by TM T.
There were eight questions this time, more than usual, and all of them were unique and
meaningful.
The speakers responded instantly with sincere and realistic answers, drawing laughter and
impressed reactions of “Ohhh!” from the audience.
1. How would you counter an argument on disposing interpreter due to the advent of
AI?
TM A: “AI can become our best friend, and it is also useful for language learning.”
2. What would you do if you were to start a new business ?
TM O: “Corporate life is exhausting. I’m thinking of taking early retirement and
starting a real estate company.”
3. Which business would you recommend to your sons or daughters if any ?
TM T: “I always tell my daughter, ‘If you want to become wealthy, study
Japanese, math, and English seriously.’”
4. If you happen to acquire a million dollar, how would you spend ?
TM U: “As the PR officer of YTMC, I would spend all of it on YTMC.”
5. What is the single most important factor in your life ?
TM T: “Continuing my daily responsibilities even when I don’t feel well.”
6. What would your mother say about you right now ?
TM N: “She would tell me not to be nervous in front of people. My mother loves
singing and is a very cheerful person.”
7. Please summarize your life.
TM A spoke about how they were raised from the age of six, how they studied and
worked, and shared that they are now working in accounting.
8. If you were to write a living will, what would you write?
TM T: “We have already prepared wills for each other, but perhaps we may need
to revise them in the future.”
There were three prepared speeches, two of which were longer speeches of 10 to 15
minutes.
*The first speaker was TM T with the speech titled “When Mindset Changes…”

“Change your mindset, and your actions will change.
Change your actions, and your habits will change.
Change your habits, and your character will change.
Change your character, and your destiny will change.”
Using this quote effectively, TM T spoke about how a new member joining their workplace
project transformed, how the entire team changed positively, and also how joining YTMC
personally changed his own life as well.
*The second speaker was TM I with the speech “Visionary Leader.”
“Anyone can become a leader!”
As a teacher, TM I passionately shared what they want their students to learn:
“Think for yourself. Find questions, research them, discover the answers, and take
action.”
TM I also delivered the powerful message:
“A person with vision but without a plan is not a leader, but merely a dreamer.”
*The final speaker was TM T with the speech “The Trophy.”
Speaking in front of people alone is nerve-racking, and competing in a speech contest as
the first speaker makes it even more stressful.
However, his daughter is completely different. Even during piano recitals, she never
seems nervous and always appears confident and relaxed.
She genuinely enjoys being on stage.
From her, he learned an important lesson: instead of focusing on winning, enjoy the
experience of being on stage itself.
As a result, TM T won the first place and proudly received the trophy.
“Congratulations!”
The strong voice projection, natural gestures, and confident stage presence left a strong
impression on the audience.
During the evaluation session, sincere and thoughtful feedback was given for each
prepared speech.
The evaluators were TM A, TM M, and TM I.
Each evaluator gave insightful comments, and what stood out most was the specific
suggestions for improvement they offered.
Today’s Best Awards:
 Best Table Topics Speaker: TM O
 Best Evaluator: TM I
 Best Prepared Speaker: TM T

Congratulations to all the winners!
