About Toastmasters Club /トーストマスターズクラブについて
トーストマスターズ・インターナショナル (TI: Toastmasters International) は、1924年カリフォルニア州サンタアナにあるYMCAからスタートした、話し方、パブリック・スピーキング(大勢の人前で話すこと)、リーダーシップ・スキルの上達を目的とする、非営利教育団体(NPO)です。

TIの教育方法はとてもユニークで、ワークショップ形式の例会の中で、スピーチする役 (Speaker) とそれを論評する役 (Evaluator) に分かれてスキルを学びます。 メンバーは、他のメンバーのスピーチについて評価や改善点の提案をしていくことでスキルアップしていきます。

TI’s educational system is quite unique. Members take a role of learner and teacher based on manuals in a workshop-style meeting. Members have an opportunity to speak out their ideas as well as evaluate achievements of other members.

横浜トーストマスターズクラブ(YTMC)はトーストマスターズインターナショナル（TI）の一員で、 英語スピーチ、英語プレゼンテーションを通じて、英語でのコミュニケーション・リーダーシップを実践形式で学ぶクラブです。 
例会は原則毎月第１・第３土曜日の14:00 -16:00 横浜市内、海沿いの会議室で主に行われています。 （みなとみらい、赤レンガ倉庫、山下公園が近いです）
土曜日の午後なので、休日を楽しむために参加しているメンバーが多いのが特徴。 アットホームな雰囲気の中、英語でコミュニケーションやリーダシップを積極的に学んでいけることが当クラブの魅力です。
YTMCでは、現在、約40名の方が会員になっており、20代から60代まで幅広いメンバーが所属しています。英語については、英語ネイティブの方、日本以外のアジア圏出身の方、海外滞在経験者や英語をよく使うお仕事の方など、様々です。幅広い年齢層ですが和気あいあいとした雰囲気です。

会費は入会金4,000円、月額2,000円で、半年ごとに集めます。 事前に3回まで無料でゲスト参加（見学）できますので、例会内容やYTMCの雰囲気を見ていただいてから入会をご検討いただけます。

正式に入会すると、スピーチスキル、リーダーシップスキルのベーシックマニュアルが配布されます。 また、TIから雑誌 “TOASTMASTER”が毎月発行されており、コミュニケーションとリーダーシップの勉強に役立ちます。
Yokohama Toastmasters Club (YTMC) is a member of Toastmasters International (TI). YTMC is a club where people can learn communication and leadership skills through making speeches and presentations in English.
YTMC holds a meeting twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Our meetings are held mainly at a seaside meeting room near Minato Mirai and Yamashita Park in Yokohama City.
One of YTMC’s advantages is to be able to learn communication and leadership skills in a relaxed, homey atmosphere.
We currently have approx. 40 members with around 30 individuals attending each meeting regularly. YTMC members include a wide variety of nationalities, age and experience from business professionals to students. The atmosphere of our meetings is cheerful with lots of humor and fun!
Our meetings are conducted by members with various roles. Prior to the meeting, a facilitator of the meeting called TMOD (Toastmaster of the Day) makes a meeting agenda and will chair the meeting. More details about our typical meetings can be found HERE.
The membership fee is reasonable with an admission fee of 4,000 yen payable upon enrollment and a monthly fee of 2,000 yen payable semiannually in advance.

When you officially join YTMC, you will receive two Basic Manuals (for speech and leadership skills) along with a “TOASTMASTER” magazine which will be issued monthly from TI. This magazine is beneficial to acquire a wide range of information about communication and leadership skills.
YTMC Annual Activities 2025
基本となる月2回の通常ミーティング（例会）では、10月のハロウィンや12月のクリスマスなど季節に応じたテーマ例会や、クラブ内コンテストなどを実施しています。また、クラブ外で開催されるイベントやコンテストにも参加しています。
At our regular meetings, which are held twice a month, we host themed events based on the season such as Halloween in October and Christmas in December as well as In-House contests. We also participate in events and contests held outside the club.
