Yokohama Toastmasters club first regular meeting in 2013 was held at Hatoba Kaikan on Jan. 19th.
Some members went home or made a journey at the end of the year and New Year. So there were a lot of souvenirs!!

Today, TM R.R took first TMOD. At first he was a little bit nervous.
But he managed the moderator of the meeting successfully.

In addition, today two new members joined YTMC. They are TM M.K and TM N.S. WELCOME!!!
Let’s learn communication skill and leadership skill together!

2012.12.01

The regular meeting of YTMC was held for the first time in about a month.

Today, the speech marathon was planned. So there were 7 speakers in this meeting!
It was very exciting!
Speakers gave audiences prepared speech using each speech skill.
Then many speakers gave speeches using PC.
But unfortunately, a projector and some of their PC were not compatible.

If we use the device like PC in the speech, we need to deal with the possibility of an accident.
And if we can do nothing about this, we give the speech without PC!! But I’m sure YTMC members can do it!

Dec.15th is the last meeting in 2012. We will plan year end party.

2012.11.03

The 539th regular meeting was held at Danjo Kyodo Sankaku Center.
Today’s key word (called `Word of the Day’) which is provided by TM H.S was {Definitely}.

Today’s theme:  “Fashion & Style”  and Ms. H.I of TMOD explained the comments from role takers about Fashion&Style.  Everyone had a different fashion and different view for their styles. That was a very interesting point.
As there are limited attendees for today’s meeting, some members took double roles.
(We-our members are always very helpful and support each other! )

Today, we had a special presentation by TM Y.K and the speech Time was about 45 minutes!!  On his speech, we became a member of the House of Representatives and how to decrease national debt”1,000 trillion JPY “. He effectively handled our member’s various behavioural problems that interfered with the discussion!!  It was a very difficult question and situation, all members enjoyed his speech and discussion.

The 538th Meeting Report

2012.10.20

The 538th regular meeting was held at Kanagawa Fujin Kaikan, located near Momijizaka Street.
In Momijizaka Street, there are many maple trees along the street.
The leaf color has still stayed green.The meeting theme was “Halloween”.
TM K.T as TMOD disguised herself as a witch and controlled the meeting smoothly and comically.

Four speakers performed wonderful speeches, based on their experiences and opinions.
Furthermore, their evaluators pointed out their good and improved points sharply.
We enjoyed the meeting and had a profitable time to improve our communication and leadership skills.

Next meeting on 3rd November will be held at Danjyo Kyodo Sankaku Senter Yokohama-minami.

We are looking forward to your active participation on the next meeting.

The 537th meeting Report

2012.10.06

The 537th regular meeting was held at Hatoba kaikan, our home ground.
Today, I was confused because ten guests came to YTMC!!! That’s unbelievable! So the meeting was very exciting and enjoyable.

The meeting theme was “Autumn festival”.
In Japan, There are expressions called “Autumn for Reading, Autumn for Eating, Autumn for Sports.”
So there are many events in autumn season. Many members told about event related to Autumn for Eating.

In addition, we had Speech marathon! There were six speakers in this meeting.
Each speech was different theme and project.
That’s why audiences listened to various speech and learned many useful things.

I realized that joining many guests leads to increase member’s motivation!
Please join us easily! And let’s learn presentation skill and leadership skill together!

We are looking forward to seeing many guests.

2012-09-01

It was a first day of September, but it was still very hot and humid day.

The 535^th Meeting started with a great announcement by President Matsuzaki.
YTMC was given the ribbon of president distinguished club!!!
We had a great honor!! Wow.

The today’s TMOD was TM A.T who is the youngest member in YTMC.
Although he has joined the club about a year ago, he did a great job today
as TMOD and always made us laugh with his joke.   ^^

There are 5 speakers today and there were various topics and message on their
speechessuch as about his and her experiences, hobby, Home countries
and life style.
For the audience (listeners), we are able to learn many things through their speech.
This is the one of the interesting and valuable points on YTMC!
All speakers and evaluators did great job but unfortunately, some of them were
not able to finish within the time limit….

Yes,  time management is always very important in YTMC.

Next meeting on Sep 15th is In-House contest!! We are so excited it!

The 534th meeting report was held during Obon holiday. But many members joined the meeting!

Today, there was a special speech. The program title was “Problem-Solving Discussion”.
Speech time was 45-50 min! Very Very Long!
TM Y.K took a facilitator. And the theme of discussion was “Be more attractive TMC”. 
We discussed how every meeting becomes more active. 

The discussion was exciting, and there were many ideas to solve this problem.
During the discussion, I noticed it is important to contact with inactive members.

So, I’ll do that, and I’ll update this website more to inform atmosphere of every meeting to them!

‘Time management is very important!’

The 533 th meeting was adjourned by president message. Today there were five prepared speakers. So time table was very tight.

But five speeches were very exciting! There were various theme, for example African journey, Love!, Words and so on.
In addition, evaluation session was also exciting. All evaluators performed good time management, except for one.
This is…. PRESIDENT! It was overrun of only 3 seconds. But Toastmasters rule is very severe!
It was disqualified even just three seconds.

Time management is very important in Toastmasters club.
All member’s cooperation leads to close the meeting on time.
Let’s try to close the meeting at just 4 PM!

Summer has come. It was very hot. But YTMC meeting was hotter than summer!

Today, a special guest joined the meeting. Mr. O was former YTMC member.
He involved chartering YTMC 24 years ago. He was glad YTMC continue even now.
He was assigned Tale topic speaker, and got the best table topic speaker! Great!!

After that, we went to Chinese restaurant. YTMC members have used this restaurant since YTMC started.
It means 24 years! Wow!!

A woman of Chinese restaurant said ‘Dumplings are Chinese croissants. So at first, you should eat it without source.’

The 531th regular meeting was held in Tanabata.
It was the first time since officers changed.

In addition, we had new member’s induction ceremony.
Mr. T became a new member. Congratulations! Let’s enjoy every meeting together.

However…

We never meet without a parting.
TM M.F and TM T.K leave from YTMC. I’ll really miss them.
But they got the best prepared speaker and the best table topic speaker.
It was Wonderful! They brought their speeches to successful conclusion.
After meeting, we enjoyed Karaoke!!
